Breakthrough in Domestic High-Speed EML Chips: Zetta Semiconductor Unveils Mass-Producible 100G PAM4 EML
As a core component of optical modules, high-speed EML chips have long relied on imports. At the 2025 OptoElectronics and Communications Conference (OECC), Zetta Semiconductor announced the successful development of a mass-producible 100G PAM4 Electro-Absorption Modulated Laser (EML), marking a critical advancement in the mass production of high-speed optical communication chips. This achievement was led by Dr. K-H. Huang, with the related paper published at OECC, drawing significant industry attention.

100G PAM4 EML Chip of Zetta Semiconductor Passed Stringent Tests
Zetta Semiconductor, a leading supplier of optical communication technology in China, recently passed the third-party inspection by Pinghu Research Institute and released the data report of its self-developed and taped 100G PAM4 EML. The report shows that Zetta's 100G PAM4 EML has surpassed industry standards in several key performance indicators, fully demonstrating excellent signal quality and system fault tolerance.
